NBC News. Nov. 20. 2019. The sexual predator who was convicted of raping young girls in a Jehovah's Witnesses congregation in Washington was recently sentenced to five years in prison for his crimes. Zalkin Law Firm client, Moriah Hughes, will now work with the Zalkin Law Firm to file a civil lawsuit that names the congregation where Hughes' abuse occurred, the congregation where she reported it, as well as the Governing Body of Jehovah's Witnesses, among other entities. The Zalkin Law Firm has filed more than 30 child sexual abuse civil lawsuits against the Jehovah's Witnesses across the country.
In this article Irwin Zalkin was quoted:
“Do I feel that they have a practice of protecting predators? Absolutely. Not a question,” Zalkin said. “They have no clue about grooming. They have no training or understanding of how sexual predators work.”
Moriah hopes by taking legal action against the Jehovah's Witnesses, she can prevent what happened to her from happening to anyone else.
