Jackie McQuarrie

Jackie McQuarrie joined the Zalkin Law Firm in 2014 with extensive litigation experience. Formerly, Jackie worked as a Deputy Public Defender in Shasta County where she represented felony criminal defendants in all stages of criminal proceedings. Jackie acted as lead trial counsel in numerous jury and court trials, including serious and violent felony cases. She has litigated countless hearings and motions in state court. During her time in Shasta County, Jackie served as her office’s representative in the Re-Entry Collaborative Court, working closely with multiple court-community partners to reduce recidivism rates and heighten public safety.

Jackie is a graduate of the University of California Davis School of Law where she received her J.D. in May 2009. While at UC Davis School of Law, Jackie succeeded academically, graduating as a member of the Order of the Coif, and receiving Witkin Awards for Academic Excellence in her Scientific Evidence, Public International Law, Marital Property, and Trusts, Wills, and Estates courses. Additionally, Jackie served as the Research Editor for the Journal of Juvenile Law and Policy. During law school, Jackie worked as a judicial extern for the Honorable William B. Shubb of the U.S. District Court in the Eastern District of California.

Jackie graduated magna cum laude from the University of San Francisco with a Bachelor of Arts in Politics and minors in Psychology and Criminal Justice.
